These golden cones are the best thing to happen to ice cream since, well, ever!
- waffle cones
- gold lustre dust
- clear vanilla extract
- small pastry brush
Mix 1/4 teaspoon of lustre dust with 1/2 teaspoon of extract in a small bowl.
Dip a clean pastry or paint brush into the mixture, and brush the golden extract onto the cone. Work your way around the entire cone. Brush the mixture on the cone in various directions to make sure the nooks and crannies of each grid is filled with gold. Avoid soaking the brush. Instead, apply thin layers of lustre mixture, allowing each to dry before applying the next. Set aside to dry.
Once dry, stack cones and return them to their store original container to extend their freshness and keep them protected.
