Tools and Supplies

    • 7/8″ size button cover kit
    • fabric
    • ribbon
    • glue gun with hot glue
    • scissors
    • wire cutters
    • linen napkin (optional)

STEP ONE

Using the tools provided in your button kit, cover all of the buttons with fabric according to manufacturer’s directions. Remove the thread loop from the back of all the buttons with wire cutters so the back is flat.

STEP TWO

Cut strips of ribbon measuring about 2.5″ long. Cut a notch into one end of the ribbon by cutting halfway through the ribbon from either side at a 45 degree angle.

STEP THREE

Glue the end of the ribbon without the notch to the back of the button.

STEP FOUR

If you have a linen napkin on hand, roll or fold it as you plan to on the day of your event. Wrap a length of ribbon around it to get an accurate measurement of how long the ribbon wrap will need to be. Cut the ribbon, then glue both ends of the ribbon to the back of the button so that the ribbon forms a loop behind the button.
